ENGR 2304  Engineering Programming/COSC 1336 Fundamentals of Programming I

Introduction to computer programming. Emphasis on the fundamentals of structured design, development, testing, implementation, and documentation. Includes coverage of language syntax, data and file structures, input/output devices, and disks/files.  Two lecture and three laboratory hours per week.

Schedule: Spring, 2008 (January 14, 2008 - May 6, 2008)

Course Format: In class lecture plus assignments and exams using WebCT.  To learn more about WebCT,  click here.  Three proctored exams (two regular and final) will be given. Reading, research, and study assignments will be made.  

Potential Students:  Computer Science/Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems (MIS), Engineering, Math/Science majors, and others who are interested in learning the fundamentals of programming.

Background Preparation:  Previous programming experience not required.  It is highly recommended that the student has completed Algebra I & II in high school and/or College Algebra (MATH 1314) in college.  Experience in pre-Calculus (high school or college) is advantageous.
