ENGR 1201 Introduction to Engineering
ENGR 1201 Introduction to Engineering is a course designed to bridge
Beginning college students / High school students
to
Entry level courses in engineering and science.
Emphasis is on the fundamentals of scientific and engineering principles as
applied to the solution of real world problems.Instructor: Dick Whipple
*Course Format: Via distance education (teleconference) and the Internet
using Campus Cruiser (Portal). Class activities include four exams (two regular, one take-home, and a comprehensive final), textbook readings, Internet research, and ten assignments.Potential Students: Engineering, math, computer/physical science majors,
and others who are interested in filling in problem solving "gaps" at an early
stage in their college career.Background Preparation: It is important that a student has completed
Algebra I & II, geometry, and chemistry in high school. Completion of
high school and/or college pre-Calculus is strongly recommended.
