The Association for Career and Technical Education is
the largest national education association dedicated to the advancement
of education that prepares youth and adults for careers. Its mission is
to provide educational leadership in developing a competitive workforce.
This site contains information on National Tech Prep
Network , the Library of the Workplace, contextual learning, professional
development, and research findings.
Career and technical education programs are an integral
part of public education and are designed to educate about, through, and
for careers. The National Research and Dissemination Centers for Career
and Technical Education, as primary sources of research-based information,
will significantly affect the quality of knowledge and understanding necessary
to advance career and technical education in the United States.
The National Council for Occupational Education is a
private, nonprofit, professional organization committed to promoting excellence
and growth in occupational education at the post secondary level. NCOE,
an affiliate council of the American Association of Community Colleges
(AACC), provides a national forum for administrators and faculty in occupational,
vocational, technical, and career education as well as representatives
of business, labor, military, and government, to affect and direct the
future role of two-year colleges in work-related education.
The Division of National Programs supports
the design and delivery of high-performance education that is linked to
the workplace. The Division’s activities include providing grants to special
populations, conducting research, and providing technical assistance to
the career/technical and adult education communities.
The Center’s work enables educators
to engage youth and adults in learning and career development experiences
that lead to meaningful and productive careers. Toward that end, the Center
undertakes research, development, and capacity-building technical assistance
activities to strengthen the connections among educational institutions,
workplaces, communities, and families. Ultimately, the Center’s efforts
are designed to enhance the quality of career-related learning in schools,
colleges, and the workplace for all individuals.
LMCI
provides a wide array of career and occupational information software, hardcopy
monographs and job hunting guides, labor market and continuing education
outcomes data, in-service training, tabloids and other materials to assist
students and jobseekers in developing a personalized, well-informed plan for
their education and career choices
The American School Counselor Association is the national
organization that represents the profession of school counseling. ASCA
focuses on providing professional development, enhancing school counseling
programs, and researching effective school counseling practices. Our mission
is to promote excellence in professional school counseling and the development
of all students. This site contains many links to resources for school

The America's Job Bank computerized network links state
Employment Service offices to provide job seekers with the largest pool
of active job opportunities available anywhere. For employers it provides
rapid, national exposure for job openings. In addition to the Internet,
the job openings found in America's Job Bank are available on computer
systems in public libraries, colleges and universities, high schools, shopping
malls, transition offices on military bases worldwide, and other places
of public access.
The Occupational Outlook Handbook is a nationally recognized
source of career information, designed to provide valuable assistance to
individuals making decisions about their future work lives. Revised
every two years, the Handbook describes what workers do on the job, working
conditions, the training and education needed, earnings, and expected
job prospects in a wide range of occupations.

recruiting center for the Staffing industry. Net-Temps brings together

The National Alliance of Business is a national business
organization focused on increasing student achievement and improving the

for the Bellnet Distance Learning System.
The League for Innovation in the Community College is
a non-profit educational consortium of leading community colleges organized
to stimulate innovation and experimentation in all areas of community college
development. Founded in 1968 the League serves as a catalyst, project incubator,
