ORIE 0100 - New Student Orientation - 1 sem. hr. (1-0-0)
An introduction to college living:  college life and the role of the school are considered and discussed in terms of their academic, social, and future import.  Lectures are delivered on such useful topics as library usage, effective studying, note-taking, term paper preparation, and student objectives.  Required of all freshmen.  One lecture hour per week.  Students transferring to SWTJC with 12 or more semester hours do not have to fulfill ORIE 0100 requirement

POFT 1329 - Keyboarding and Document Formatting - 3 sem. hrs.  (2-3-0)
Skill development in the operation of the keyboard by touch applying proper keyboarding techniques.  Emphasis on development of acceptable speed and accuracy levels and formatting basic documents.  Two lecture and three lab hours per week.  Prerequisite: None.  Lab Fee - $24

ITCC 1302 - Local Area Networks Design and Protocols: Cisco 1 - 3 sem. hrs. (2-3-0)
Skill development inn the design and installation of local area networks to ensure optimal throughput.  Topics include cabling, cable closets, management devices, selection, and installation of network devices, protocols, and subnetting.  Two lecture and three lab hours per week.  Prerequisite: ITSC 1301 - Introduction to Computers or equivalent.  Co-requisite: THEA Reading.  Lab Fee - $24

ITCC 1306 - Basic Router Configuration: Cisco 2 -  3 sem. hrs. (2-3-0)
An introduction to Cisco basic router configuration for local area networks.  Topics include initial router configuration for TCP/IP, management of the configuration, backup or router configuration files, routing protocols, and the use of security features.  Two lecture and three lab hours per week.  Prerequisite: ITCC 1302 - Local Area Network Protocols: Cisco 1.  Lab Fee - $24

ITCC 1342 - Local Area Management (LAN): Cisco 3 - 3 sem. hrs. (2-3-0)
Skill development in managing traffic in local area networks (LAN) and in the management of network devices for LAN's.  This course includes configuring or routers for IPX protocol, filtering traffic in an IP environment, and identifying and resolving network congestion problems.  Two lecture and three lab hours per week.  Prerequisite:  ITCC 1306 - Basic Router Configuration: Cisco 2.  Lab Fee - $24

ITCC 1346 - Wide Area Management (WAN): Cisco 4 - 3 sem. hrs. (2-3-0)
An introduction to wide area networking (WA) services and management.  Two lecture and three lab hours per week.  Prerequisite:  ITCC 1342 - Local Area Management - Cisco 3.  Lab Fee - $24

 ITMC 1441 - Implementing Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional and Server - 4 sem. hrs. (3-3-0)
Provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to install and configure Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional on stand-alone computers and on client computers that are part of a workgroup or domain.  Provides the skills and knowledge necessary to install and configure Windows 2000 Server to create file, print, and servers.  Three lecture and three lab hours per week.  Prerequisite: ITSE 1305 - Introduction to PC Operating Systems.  Lab Fee - $24

 ITMC 1442 - Implementing a Microsoft Windows 2000 Network Infrastructure - 4 sem. hrs. (3-3-0)
Installing, configuring, managing, and supporting a network infrastructure that uses the Microsoft Windows 2000 server family of products.  Three lecture and three lab hours per week.  Prerequisite: ITMC 1441 - Implementing Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional and Server or approval of instructor.  Lab Fee - $24

 ITMC 2433 - Designing a Secure Microsoft Windows 2000 Network - 4 sem. hrs. (3-3-0)
Provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to design a security framework for small, medium, and enterprise networks by using Microsoft Windows 2000 technologies.  Three lecture and three lab hours per week.  Prerequisite: ITNW 1433 - Microsoft Networking Essentials or ITMC 1442 - Implementing Microsoft Windows 2000 Network Infrastructure.  Lab Fee - $24

 ITNW 1346 - Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5 Series - Concepts and Administration - 3 sem. hrs. (2-3-0)
Skills development in the day-to-day management of an established Exchange Server Organization using Microsoft Exchange Server.  Two lecture and three lab hours per week.  Prerequisite: ITMC 1441 - Implementing Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional and Server.  Lab Fee - $24

 ITNW 1433 - Microsoft Networking Essentials - 4 sem. hrs. (3-3-0)
Instruction in networking essential concepts including the OSI reference model, network protocols, transmission media, and networking hardware and software.  Three lecture and three lab hours per week.  Prerequisite: ITSE 1305 - Introduction to PC Operating Systems or approval of instructor.  Lab Fee - $24

 ITNW 2317 - Network Security - 3 sem. hrs. (2-3-0)
Instruction in security for network hardware, software, and data including physical security, backup procedures, firewalls, encryption, and protection from viruses.  Two lecture and three laboratory hours per week.  Prerequisite:  ITNW 1433  - Microsoft Networking Essentials.  Lab Fee $24

 ITSC 1301 - Introduction to Computers - 3 sem. hrs. (2-3-0)
Overview of computer information systems.  Introduces computer hardware, software, procedures, and human resources.  Explores integration and application in business and other segments in society.  Fundamentals of computer problem-solving and programming may be discussed and applied.  Examines applications and software relating to a specific curricular area.  Two lecture and three lab hours per week.  Prerequisite: Keyboarding proficiency.  Lab Fee - $24

 ITSC 1305 - Introduction to PC Operating Systems - 3 sem. hrs.  (2-3-0)
A study of personal computer operating systems.  Topics include installation and configuration, file management, memory and storage management, control of peripheral devices, and use of utilities.  Two lecture and three lab hours per week.  Prerequisite: ITSC 1301 - Introduction to Computers or equivalent.  Co-requisite: Reading.  Lab Fee - $24

 ITSC 1313 - Internet/Web Page Development - 3 sem. hrs.  (2-3-0)
Instruction in the use of Internet services and the fundamentals of web page design and web site development.  Two lecture and three lab hours per week.  Prerequisite: ITSC 1309 - Introduction to Computers or equivalent.  Lab Fee - $24

 ITSC 1325 - Personal Computer Hardware - 3 sem. hrs. (2-3-0)
A study of current personal computer hardware including personal computer assembly and upgrading, setup and configuration, and trouble shooting.  Two lecture and three lab hours per week.  Prerequisite: ITSC 1301 - Introduction to Computers or equivalent.  Co-requisite: Reading.  Lab Fee - $24

 ITSC 2280 - Cooperative Education - Computer and Information Sciences, General - 2 sem. hrs. (1-0-7)
Career related activities encountered in the student's area of specialization are offered through a cooperative agreement between the college, employer, and student.  Under supervision of the college and the employer, the student combines classroom learning with work experience.  Directly  related to a technical discipline, specific learning objectives guide the student through the paid work experience.  This course may be repeated if topics and learning outcomes vary.  Capstone course that consolidates the student's learning experiences.  One lecture and seven external experience hours per week.  Prerequisite: ITCC1342 - Local Area Management (LAN): Cisco 3 and ITMC 1441 - Implementing Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional and Server or approval of instructor.  Coop Fee ‑ $24

 ITSE 1302 - Introduction to Computer Programming - 3 sem. hrs. (2-3-0)
Introduction to computer programming with emphasis on the fundamentals of structured design, development, testing, implementation, and documentation.  Includes language syntax, data and file structures, input/output devices, and files.  Two lecture and three lab hours per week.  Prerequisite: ITSC 1301- Introduction to Computers or equivalent, THEA Computation.  Co-requisite: Reading.  Lab Fee - $24
